We are currently looking for PhD and Master’s students starting at Spring 2026.
We are looking for passionate, talented, and driven individuals to join our team! As a member of our group, you’ll work at the exciting intersection of atmospheric science, hydrology, and civil engineering. You’ll collaborate with the team to identify key research questions, conduct model simulations and data-driven analyses, and make impactful discoveries.
Below are details about available opportunities. Please note that not all options are currently open (see above for updates).
If you’re interested in joining us as a PhD or Master’s student, please email me with the following:

We especially encourage applicants with external fellowships. I’m happy to support you during the application process and provide reference letters. Here are some fellowship opportunities to explore:
For current OU graduate students, we occasionally have semester-long research assistant positions for specific projects. If you’re interested in gaining hands-on research experience, feel free to email me, stop by my office (NWC4618), or book a meeting. I’m also open to serving as your committee member and supporting your academic journey.
If you’re a current OU undergraduate looking for research experience, we offer semester-long to year-long “mini” projects tailored to your interests. We also have a wealth of data that might align with your research goals. Contact me via email, stop by my office (NWC4618), or book a meeting to discuss opportunities. I’m happy to help you design a research plan that fits your interests.
For students at OU willing to explore national laboratory research experience, here is a great opportunity: DOE SULI. I am happy to help you navigate the DOE national lab system and connect you to these PIs I am familiar with!
For students outside OU, consider applying to the NWC REU program. This program provides:
I am looking for some helping hands with a wildfire risk data product generation and analysis this summer, and you’re welcome to reach out if you’re interested! More information can be found here (project #6). [REU 2025 is now closed, but you can stay tuned for 2026 REU!]
We are not actively recruiting postdocs at this time, but if you’re interested in future opportunities, feel free to reach out. I’ll follow up if a relevant project arises.
